Privacy for Peel
No account is required to start scanning. We keep only what we need to deliver a review and improve quality — then we delete it.
What we process
- Product photos and barcode values you submit for a review.
- On-device OCR text you confirm before sending a label for review.
- Review results and scan history stored on your device; signed-in history can sync to your account.
- Diagnostic traces (model inputs, outputs, sources, timings) used privately for quality debugging.
How long we keep it
Product photos and full AI diagnostic traces are retained privately for up to 30 days for quality debugging, then deleted. Local history stays on your device until you clear it. Account history stays with your signed-in email until you delete it or close the account.
What we don’t collect
- Precise location.
- Contacts or your photo library beyond the capture you choose.
- Advertising identifiers or third-party ad trackers.
Purchases and sign-in
Subscriptions and scan packs go through the App Store or Google Play. Sign-in with email is optional for scanning and required before purchase so credits and history can stay with you across devices.
